WELCOME TO THE EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF THE WIND!!!
The little fishing town of Tarifa (Andalucia) is situated on the southern tip of Spain where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. The town is just a few miles from the Strait of Gibraltar and looks out towards Africa offering impressive views over Morocco.
Tarifa is known for its long white sandy beaches but most importantly, the strong winds. It has long been famous as a Paradise for both kitesurfers and windsurfers from all around the world and it is the perfect place for beginners, intermediate, advanced or professionals to practice both these sports in any season of the year.
Being one of the world’s best spots to kitesurf there are plenty of opportunities for eager beginners to try the sport. If you are bored of the typical – lazing on the beach holiday, then book some excitement into the holiday agenda and learn to kitesurf with us. The main priority of our school is safety and fun. We offer experienced and qualified instructors which will ensure that you have a great time while you safely learn the techniques which enable you to enjoy kitesurfing. We will provide you with all the equipment necessary including transportation to the different beaches with the best winds.

The beach city of Tarifa is named Playa de Los Lances and at a few kilometers outside Tarifa we find Playa de Valdevaqueros, the main kitesurf and windsurf spots and some of the best hotels and holiday houses.
Just behind the beach of Los Lances the natural preserve of "Parque de los Alcornocales" begins extending far into the back country. This area is a paradise for trekking and mountainbiking.
At the very end of the Tarifa bay is where the Levante wind has gathered over the centuries a huge sand dune (Punta Paloma). The mountain of San Bartolo, famous for hosting 200 of Spain's best climbing routes, rises just behind the dune.
The historical center of Tarifa is surrounded by thick walls. Although the center is small, you can easily get lost in the many narrow streets and squares.
Small Plazas with orange trees, old houses with little balconies and plenty of nice restaurants, typical tapas' bars and cafes dignify the town's image.
Tarifa is a perfect base for many interesting nearby destinations reachable within a short time such as the typical white andalusian villages of Vejer, Conil, Zahara de los Atunes, Caños de Meca... or the main cities of Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga.
The days with no wind we can offer you plenty of activities: Trips to Morocco, horseback riding, climbing, yoga, golf, mountainbiking, trekking, diving and dolphin & whale watching are just a few examples.
Thanks to the warm climate all year arround, you can practice your favourite sport in Tarifa at any time.
Nightlife
Tarifa is a small town and walking from one end to the other doesn't take longer than 15min. Still, the offers for nightlife are endless. The town boasts many trendy bars, discos and restaurants with a great atmosphere and an international crowd.
Everything starts a bit later in Tarifa as people come back from beach usually not before 8pm in the summer.
From flamenco music to modern bars with live DJs you'll certainly find your favourite place in Tarifa.

Equipment Rental with Extreme Control Tarifa
Extreme Control only rents 4 line kite equipment to experienced riders who are completely independent and who can re-launch and perform self rescues. We reserve the right to assess the rider and rent equipment based on his/her skills. We do not rent kites to people practicing bodydragging or water starts.
